Blackjack is probably the most popular casino table game in the world, and of course Las Vegas is the most popular casino destination, so Vegas Strip Blackjack is understandably one of the most popular online games.  This version is played with 4 standard decks of 52 cards.  The aim of the game is to beat the dealer either by making a hand of a higher value than the dealer, without exceeding 21, or by the dealer going bust.  If you go bust first (making a hand of over 21) then you will lose your stake regardless of the hand the dealer then makes.  In the case of a tie when both you and the dealer make the same value hand, your bet will be returned.

The highest hand available is Blackjack, and ace with any 10-value card (ten, jack, queen or king).  This hand can be matched but can not be beaten.  The different suits do not make any difference to the value of hands.  If a player receives a Blackjack with his first two cards, and the dealer does not, then the player will win at 3:2 odds.  All other wins are paid at even money.

The game uses the American hole card game, which means the dealer receives both his cards during the original deal – one face up and one face down.  If he is dealt and ace or ten value card he will check for blackjack, and if he has it the he will upturn his card and the game is over.

If your first cards are both of the same value then you may Split them into two hands, by placing a further stake equal to your original wager.  You may also re-split these if further cards dealt are of the same value, up to a maximum of 3 times per game.  Aces are excluded from this rule, and may only be split once.

Another option the player has is to Double Down.  This bet is made when you believe your hand will beat the dealer with only one more card.  It also requires you to place another bet the same size as your original wager, and once the third card has been drawn you will not be able to draw any more.
